Last month, we participated in The Angel Tree program. The Angel Tree is a yearly program by the Salvation Army that provides Christmas gifts to those in need each holiday season, including our seniors and kupuna.
Angel Trees are Christmas trees placed in malls across Hawaiʻi with angel tags on each tree. People are encouraged to pick an angel tag from the tree, which corresponds to a child or senior with a special wish for Christmas, purchase the requested gift (or equivalent) and then return it to the same Angel Tree location with your tag. Angel Tree volunteers then help to delivered gifts in time for Christmas.
Being of service is one of our favorite ways of giving back to our community. In anticipation of the holidays, our Caregiver’s Heart Hawaiʻi team contributed by donating gifts and monetary donations to the Angel Tree project and volunteering our time to help Salvation Army assisting families and kupuna in need.
